About the programme

Course Overview

The weeks after contract award decide whether a project starts under control or starts recovering from day one, yet mobilisation is often planned as an afterthought to the delivery schedule rather than as a project phase in its own right. This course treats mobilisation as a discrete, plannable phase covering site establishment, workforce ramp-up, systems onboarding and client-side readiness, each with its own schedule, budget and risks. Participants learn to build a mobilisation plan that sequences temporary facilities, inductions, competency verification and long-lead procurement against a realistic ramp-up curve, and to run the joint client-contractor workshop that should happen at award rather than weeks into site work. The course also covers the client side of mobilisation that is frequently missed: setting up a project management office, confirming delegated approval authorities and briefing escalation contacts before the contractor's workforce arrives. A closing module builds demobilisation into the plan from the outset, so stand-down and site reinstatement are designed in rather than improvised at completion.
