About the programme

Course Overview

Enterprise sales cycles fail less often because of a weak product and more often because a deal was never properly qualified, leaving sellers chasing opportunities that were never going to close on the forecast timeline. This course trains enterprise account executives, sales managers and revenue operations staff to apply the MEDDPICC framework rigorously across the full sales cycle: metrics, economic buyer, decision criteria, decision process, paper process, identified pain, champion and competition. Participants learn to quantify a prospect's metrics into a business case the economic buyer will act on, map decision criteria and decision process before proposals are written, and identify and develop a genuine internal champion rather than a helpful contact. The course covers competitive positioning within the framework, navigating a customer's paper process and procurement requirements, and using MEDDPICC scores to run honest forecast and pipeline reviews. Teaching combines deal review workshops using real opportunity scenarios, champion development role play and forecast calibration exercises, so participants leave able to qualify and forecast enterprise deals with discipline.

Metrics and Economic Buyer

2 sessions · 8 points

Session 1Quantifying Metrics Into a Business Case

  • Identify the quantifiable business metrics a prospect cares about beyond product features.
  • Convert operational metrics into a financial business case an economic buyer will recognise.
  • Validate metrics with the prospect before presenting them back in a business case document.
  • Distinguish vanity metrics from the metrics that will actually influence a purchase decision.

Session 2Identifying and Accessing the Economic Buyer

  • Identify the true economic buyer who controls budget release for the specific deal size.
  • Build a plan to secure direct access to the economic buyer rather than relying on a proxy.
  • Prepare an economic buyer conversation that focuses on business outcomes, not product depth.
  • Recognise warning signs that a deal lacks genuine economic buyer engagement.
02

Decision Criteria and Decision Process

2 sessions · 8 points

Session 1Mapping Decision Criteria

  • Uncover formal and informal decision criteria before a proposal or demonstration is prepared.
  • Influence decision criteria early enough to reflect genuine differentiators of the solution.
  • Distinguish decision criteria the customer states from the criteria that actually decide the deal.
  • Document decision criteria and confirm them directly with multiple stakeholders.

Session 2Understanding and Navigating Decision Process

  • Map the full decision process including approval stages, committees and sign-off authorities.
  • Identify where a deal is likely to stall within a customer's internal decision process.
  • Align the sales process milestones to the customer's own internal decision milestones.
  • Prepare contingency plans for decision process delays caused by internal customer politics.
03

Paper Process, Identified Pain and Champion Development

2 sessions · 8 points

Session 1Paper Process and Procurement Navigation

  • Map a customer's paper process including legal review, security assessment and procurement steps.
  • Start paper process activities early enough that they do not delay a forecast quarter-end close.
  • Identify procurement requirements such as vendor onboarding that could stall contract signature.
  • Coordinate internal legal and security teams to respond quickly to customer paper process requests.

Session 2Identified Pain and Champion Development

  • Document identified pain with enough specificity to differentiate the deal from doing nothing.
  • Distinguish a genuine internal champion from a helpful contact without real influence.
  • Develop a champion by giving them tools and evidence to sell internally on your behalf.
  • Test champion strength by asking them to take a specific action inside their organisation.
04

Competition, Deal Scoring and Forecast Discipline

2 sessions · 8 points

Session 1Competitive Positioning Within MEDDPICC

  • Map every credible alternative a prospect is considering, including doing nothing at all.
  • Position against a named competitor's strengths honestly rather than through generic claims.
  • Identify competitive risk earlier by tracking a deal's decision criteria for competitor bias.
  • Prepare competitive battlecards aligned to the customer's own stated decision criteria.

Session 2MEDDPICC Deal Scoring and Forecast Reviews

  • Score an opportunity against each MEDDPICC element to expose genuine qualification gaps.
  • Run a deal review that challenges optimistic self-reporting against MEDDPICC evidence.
  • Calibrate a forecast category using MEDDPICC scores rather than seller confidence alone.
  • Coach a seller to close specific MEDDPICC gaps before the next forecast call.
