This course starts with burden assessment and risk factor surveillance, then works through selecting fiscal and regulatory measures such as taxation and labelling, redesigning primary care pathways for risk-stratified management, and building population screening programmes with defined eligibility and follow-up. Multisectoral sessions cover food environment and physical activity policy, plus the governance mechanisms needed to coordinate health with agriculture, trade and education ministries.
